In case you didn’t know…

The only reason that SAI officials made the effort to contact immediate medical services in Guwahati was that Sports Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore responded to repeated pleas from Guwahati City FC to help the ailing footballer who comes from a humble background and did not have the means to pay for his own treatment. Rathore tweeted out and ensured that medical care would be provided to the player by SAI officials immediately.

The heart of the matter

Now, it has been confirmed that indeed steps were taken by the media personnel of the SAI after Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore confirmed that all necessary measures and possible support would be provided to the talented footballer from Guwahati.

The medical emergency is reported to have been two kidney failures with a kidney transplant being immediately required in order to save the life of the gifted player. Dynamic as he has been, Rathore kept his word and treatment has begun on young Sumit Rabha.

What’s next?

The next medical update on Rabha’s condition is expected tomorrow, but it is all in a day’s work for the Sports Minister who continues to focus on making Indian sports a viable career for aspiring youngsters.

Author’s take

Credit has to go to the entire SAI team for their proactiveness in ensuring that immediate medical care was provided to the youth and hopefully such quick action can be taken on a regular basis.
