The goal came in the third period of Lake Erie’s 5-1 win over the Chicago Wolves. Berra became just the 11th goalie in AHL history to score a goal.
Berra is trying to work his way back to the NHL after being sent down to the AHL earlier this month by the Colorado Avalanche.
Avalanche coach Patrick Roy, a former NHL goalie himself, criticized Berra for not being hungry before sending him to Lake Erie.
By the way, the Wolves are the St. Louis Blues’ top affiliate. Berra was drafted by the Blues but never played in their organization.
